What travelers are saying
Still love this place, but a few things have slipped
“We are longtime members and keep coming back for a reason, so let me start with the good. The rooms were ready the moment we arrived and were absolutely perfect. The food has genuinely improved since our last visit, and the restaurant service was fantastic across the board. Bar service was great too, and I have to give a special shout out to Maria at the cabanas at Bash. She served our group each night, kept up with all of us, and made sure we always had everything we needed. She was a highlight of the trip. The entertainment deserves real praise this year. The music at Bash has improved, and I loved hearing country music at the pool parties. The shows at Bash were fantastic. The dancing, the aerial shows, the fire shows, and the overall sexiness were outstanding and noticeably better than previous years. That said, a few things have gone downhill and are worth mentioning. Check-in and check-out both take forever. I am not sure what is being typed into the computer for that long, but it needs to be faster. The butler service has also declined. Ours made our group reservations, which was helpful, but that was essentially the last we heard from her. She was off for a couple of days and we were never set up with a replacement. To be fair, you can now make your own reservations through their website, which is a nice convenience. The Playmakers are the change that makes me the saddest. They used to learn everyone’s names, spend real time getting to know guests, and create a sense of community and camaraderie at the pool and up at Bash. That energy just is not there anymore. They seem to be trying their best, but the connection we used to feel is gone. We used to bring them gifts. I really miss it. A few more notes. The hibachi was disappointing. We couldn’t choose how we wanted our meat cooked, the steak came overcooked, and there wasn’t enough fried rice to go around for everyone. It was a good show, but the meal itself fell short. The switch from Coke to Pepsi products was also a mistake. I have yet to meet a single guest who prefers it. And for transportation, be aware they now charge around $75 per person round trip through their new provider. For our group of eight that was absurd, so we booked USA Transfers instead and paid $100 round trip for the whole group. Much cheaper to skip the hotel service. Even with all that, we had a wonderful time and we will absolutely be back.”
